bio:
Alissa
Christine is a clever and visionary
contemporary Brazilian-American artist. Her natural feel for spatial
relationships and color drives her passion for capturing the distinct
essence and complexities of visual concepts. As Alissa Christine follows
her artistic journey, she expresses her innate willingness to awaken
the observer to a more visually stimulating version of the world.
She is consistently committed to her work and draws inspiration from
the pure and simple joy of creating.
As many promising young
artists, Alissa Christine found her talent early on. At the age of
four she would paint on the back of her mother’s canvases --herself
an accomplished artist. Throughout Alissa Christine's adolescent and
adult years, her untiring curiosity enthused her to experiment with
other creative platforms of expression like photography and fashion.
With her talents on convergent paths, she attended The Pennsylvania
State University and received a Bachelor of Arts degree in Advertising.
Alissa Christine began
her career as a commercial artist in New York City before the digital
explosion and continues to master each new graphic technique. In the
mid 1990’s, She followed her heart and relocated to South Beach,
Florida, and formed her own graphic design/photography business, tastygraphicsinc.com
-- which has recently transformed into tastyphotographics.com. Within
her creative spirit, lies a driven entrepreneur whose concepts are
inspired by capturing the intrinsic needs of clients and translating
them into visual solutions that work. Alissa Christine's relentless
search for new approaches to design and photography has also brought
her to share her knowledge and experience in the capacity of instructor
with students who are eager to develop their own artistic sensibilities.
For certain, the creative
spirit is alive within this artist, allowing her the freedom to experience
everything in a state of realistic fantasy. She is a passionate enthusiast,
supporter and creator of art. Alissa Christine's maverick imagination
draws in any observer to a memorable journey of the ‘tastier’
dimensions of life.
de:lite
is a journey through the marvelous world of creative imagery.
This series of artwork was inspired into formation by the energetic
vibrations of light and music through experimentation with organic
abstract photography. The artist, Alissa Christine, fuses photography
of luminosity and digital graphic enhancements to achieve a stylized
celebration of color, light and form. Her myriad of talents and emotional
intimacy involved in the creation of each image results in a saturation
of your senses.

New Times (10/13/05)
See/Be Seen
Groove Is in the Art
by Christina Kent
Each person perceives color in different ways,
a complex reactive formula based on retinal reflex, memory, and the
hard-wiring of the brain. ... Alissa Christine attempts to tap into
the phenomena of light and color for her latest photographic art exhibition,
cleverly titled "de:lite." "I like to alter the way
the light is registered through the photograph, something your eyes
can't do," says the artist of her seamless fusion of photography
and graphic design. By enhancing or warping certain parts of a photograph
of, for instance, a few people on a street corner in front of a hotel,
Christine transforms an image of reality into what she sees as a more
"delicious" form of life. These trippy, psychedelic pieces
are reminiscent of amped-up Rorschach tests or Georgia O'Keeffe orchids
on Red Bull. Tonight's opening party is from 7:00 to 11:00 at Art
Café (427 Jefferson Ave., South Beach). The exhibit runs through
November 13. Call 305-531-0770, or visit www.alissachristine.com.
